Danielle Ruggiero is an artist and art teacher working in Massachusetts. She received her Master of Science in Art Education in 2017, and her B.F.A from Syracuse University in sculpture and art education with a minor in ceramics in 2014. She began her artistic exploration as a painter, finding herself drawn to the run down and dilapidated barns prominent in the scenery of her upstate New York hometown of Vestal. This scenery inspired an interest in the ideas of nature, decay, and renewal that have become central to her art making process. Inspired by photographing and collecting elements in nature and their texture, she explores the transformation of beauty in nature in contrast to beauty's societal norms through clay and mixed media. She expanded on her passion for art by becoming an art teacher in 2014. Through collaboration, creativity, and personal expression, Ruggiero teaches Sculpture, and AP 3D Design at Marshfield High School while maintaining a studio practice.
